Bubblegum Blowing Event
Recently, pupils from Monifieth High School have been involved in a new project called the Bubble gum blowing event. This event was organised by a local artist Georgina Star and was held at the Cooper Gallery at Duncan of Jordanstone College. The event involved a selection of Monifieth High school pupils from across the school going to the college, where they met up with other pupils who were also participating, and of course, leading professional artist Georgina Star. The pupils were then given the task of blowing bubbles of all different shapes and sizes with bubblegum. This was then photographed and the results will be used in her coming exhibition in the Cooper Gallery. The trip was enjoyed by all the pupils, who came back to the school bubbly and inspired. The art department hopes to have more trips of a similar nature in the future as it gives the young people a real taste of the life of an artist and is a great source of inspiration.
